Project Gorgon (2026): How to Unlock Your First Mount

Exploring the world of Project Gorgon on foot can quickly get brutal if you enter high-tier enemy zones. Fortunately, you can get a mount to travel faster and more safely in the game. Before riding any mount, you need to learn the riding skill.

This guide breaks down how to unlock mounts and learn the riding skill in Project Gorgon (2026).

How to Unlock Your First Mount

Unlock a Mount from a Trainer

This is the first method you can use to unlock mounts. You will have to find a trainer to teach you how to ride. Getting the skill from the trainer will also grant you access to a horse.

However, you must pay 3,000 coins for the horse and complete a quest to learn the riding skill.

If you have that much money, travel to the northern edge of Eltibule. Search for Mythandar, the horse master.

Unlock Mount for Free

To unlock a mount for free in Project Gorgon, you need Horse Apples. To get horse apples, you need horse apple seeds. You will get horse apple seeds every time you pet a wild horse. Once you collect enough seeds, plant them using your level 6 Gardening skill and fertilizer.

You can now use the apples produced to tame wild horses whenever you interact with them.

TIP: Ensure you check the traits of a wild horse before attempting to tame it.

How to get Riding Skill for Free

You can also get the riding skill for free without completing the trainer’s quest. To get the skill for free, you will have to participate in Horse Thief events that spawn at 1:00 pm daily on the map.

There are two locations for the event shown below:

TIP: Defeating enemies during these events also drops Horse Apple Seeds directly into your inventory. They may also drop Horse Breeding Primers, which explain horse traits and breeding mechanics.

How to Switch Your Mounts in Project

To manage mounts in the game, you must visit a stable. Travel to the Serbule Keep and speak with Gisli. You can now view your horse stats, and switch active mounts, among other things.

TIP: The horse at the top of your stable list is the one you currently have equipped.
