Road to Vostok: Top 5 Tips to Survive and Progress

Road to Vostok is a slow, strategic survival game where mistakes are quickly punished. If you don’t understand how the game works early on, you will keep losing your gear and struggle to progress efficiently.

Without further ado, here are the top 5 tips to survive and progress faster in Road to Vostok.

Top 5 Tips to Survive and Progress

Store Spare Gear in Your Cabin

One of the biggest mistakes most players make is carrying everything they have with them on their runs. The reason for this mistake is that the inventory system is massive, and you can easily move around with all your gear. However, in Road to Vostok, if you die, you lose everything you are carrying at the time.

To avoid this problem, always keep spare gear inside your cabin by placing it on the table and cabinets. So, from weapons to other items like meds, ammo, and food, you can keep the spares you have for future runs.

Reset the Town for more loot

The way loot reset works in Road to Vostok is also unique. For the loot to reset, you must enter and exit your cabin. This means you can farm the same area for resources multiple times by entering your cabin, storing your extra loot, and heading back out.

TIP: Enemies will also reset when you loot reset. So, you will have to clear them again to loot the area peacefully.

Master the Trader System Quickly

The trader is one of the most important elements in the game. Interacting with the trader also lets you progress quickly in the game. You will find him inside a barn clustered with other buildings located near your cabin.

Unlike other exploration-shooter games, there is no currency system. To buy new items, you have to trade items you don’t need for items you want when you interact with the trader.

You will also have to master the meter system so you don’t lose too many valuable items during the trades.

TIP: Whenever you reset loot in the Town, you also reset the items in the trader’s shop. You will also reset the shop if you buy many items in a single trade.

Prioritize Meds when looting

Meds are one of the most important resources in Road to Vostok. They let you heal, so you don’t die from bleeding. Unfortunately, meds are difficult to find. You will typically only find them in cabinets with a “cross sign” on them in the bathrooms.

Before each run, ensure you carry at least one bandage with you. Also, always monitor your health bar for small decreases, which typically indicate bleeding.

Bandits

Bandits are very dangerous in the game and have very accurate aim. They can easily spot you from long distances and deal insane damage.

So instead of rushing into fights, always play smart. Stay in cover and use quick peeks to monitor their positions. Since ammo is often limited, only aim for headshots to kill the bandits you encounter quickly.

Now you know the top 5 tips to survive and progress in Road to Vostok. We hope this guide was helpful, gamer! Stay tuned for more.
