Today’s guide will go through all that you need to know when starting the game, whether you are a beginner or seasoned player. Let’s get right to it!

Complete Beginners Guide

Character Creation

At the start of the game you will choose a Raider Class that suits your playstyle. The main classes in the game are:

Melee Raiders

These raiders mainly focus on close-range combat, and these raiders also deal serious damage.

Ranged Raiders

These raiders use ranged weapons such as bows, crossbows, and firearms to attack from a distance.

Hybrid Raiders

These are raiders that focus on both melee and ranged attacks and are the best pick for anyone starting the game.

Combat

Combat in the game is real-time and skill-based. Managing your resources and timing is crucial during battles in this game.

Melee

For Melee attacks you have two types of basic attacks. Heavy and Light attacks paired with combos and dodges.

Ranged Attacks

For ranged attacks the main attacks, the most crucial thing you need to take into consideration is aiming and timing.

Unique Abilities

Each of the classes has its own unique abilities (specials) that require a cooldown and cost energy after being used.

The trick is to learn to switch between attacks and abilities seamlessly to make sure you maximize damage. Your ultimate also makes you immune to damage when it’s active.

The Perk System

When you level up andopen chests during gameplay, you choose perks based on classes. The Classes you get to choose from are:

  • Assassin
  • Warlock
  • Warrior
  • Guardian
  • Priest

You will then choose one perk you want to scale up, and once you have chosen the perk, you will get a permanent scaling bonus for the rest of the run.

Smuggler Event

Each time you die during a run, you lose all your precious loot and upgrades. To save the loot, you will have to find something called the smuggler’s event.

This event allows you to send items and currency back to your base during a run, meaning you will NOT lose any of your precious loot!

The Alarm Meter

The Alarm Meter is a bar at the top left of your screen that goes up as you progress through a run. The higher the alarm meter, the tougher the bosses and enemies in the area become.

You have to play safe and fast to make sure your alarm meter doesn’t get too high during a run.

Enemies

Healers

These are the enemies you should focus on first; they provide shields for the other enemies in the area and should be your priority when clearing out a room.

Focus on movement and dodges to make sure you do not get hit by the attacks.

Standard Enemies

These enemies are weak but are numerous, making them perfect for farming XP.

Elite Enemies

These enemies are stronger and require elemental attacks to defeat.

Bosses

These are the toughest enemies that require both strategy and elemental attacks to take down. They have high health, multiple phases, and also use the environment to their advantage.

Boss Fights

Boss fights are challenging; you need to study their attack patterns and telegraphs to know when to hit and when to avoid their attacks.

Use Your Environment

Luring them into environmental hazards gives you a massive advantage over the bosses, making you hard to hit and, at the same time, reducing their HP.

Bonus Tips!

Learn Weaknesses

Learning your enemies’ weaknesses means that you will always have an advantage during battle.

Upgrade your Weapons!

Make sure you are upgrading your weapons regularly.
